Department of Culture staff visited exhibitions at the RTA

Led by the Director General, about 53 staff of Department of Culture under Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs visited the Royal Textile Academy (RTA) this morning.

The team viewed the exhibitions on “Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel: The Founding Father”, “Tashi Gomang: A National Treasure of Bhutan.” and “Thagzo: The Textile Weaves of Bhutan”, the three exhibitions on display at the RTA.

The Director General thanked the RTA management for hosting their visit and conveyed his appreciations for developing and putting up such rare exhibitions.

The exhibition on Zhabdrung was inaugurated on 21 September 2016 and will be on public display until March 2017.

The Tashi Gomang exhibition was inaugurated on 5 November 2016 and will be on public display till February 5, 2017. It is organized in collaboration with The Tashi Gomang Project, The Department of Culture, The Central Monastic Body, and The Thangka Conservation and Restoration Centre.
