Gearing up for the Grand Opera

The practice session of Opera is in full swing at the Royal Textile Academy. Some 76 musicians, singers and stage-performers from University of Texas at El Peso (UTEP) are in the capital for the Opera, a western classical music tradition, which will be held for first time in Bhutan on 12th October 2013. The artists from the Royal Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA) will also perform together with the performers from abroad.

 The costumes for Acis and Galatea are being created by designers from Opera Bhutan and RTA incorporating Bhutanese textiles.
